The Democrats, as per usual, think that they know what’s good for us – as if we, the people of the United States, are a bucnh of children who don’t know any better. Yet here they are again, trying to make an already convoluted health care bill even more so. How, you’re wondering?
Get this – the Democraps Democrats want to add illegals – that’s right, folks…illegals! – to the health care bill. What they seem to think is that unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a so-called “government exchange.” They also say that legal immigrants – no matter how long they’ve been in the U.S. – should be able to gain access to government-subsidized health care if they meet the other “eligibility requirements”. Eligibility requqirements? Huh?
According to California Democrat Rep. Pete Honda (wow, big surprise there!):
“Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room.”
Suffice it to say, it certainly sounds like the Democrats are not without a list of demands in reference to the health care bill and illegal immigrants possibly benefitting from it. President Obama claims that he does not want illegal immigrants to have access to health care as it’s spelled out in the legislation. And according to Senator Max Baucus, there’s no provision for illegal immigrants in his revised version of the original bill.
Yet it doesn’t stop liberal, leftist groups such as La Raza from demanding that immigrants – both legal and illegal – be included in the language within the legislation. This is not as difficult a situation as the Democrats make it out to be.
You see, first of all, the people have spoken. They agree that we need to fix thew health care system that we currently have, but not fix it where the federal government is running the show. And polls that have been commissioned, past and present, have shown that the majority of people are satisfied with their current health coverage.
It is incumbent that Congress – both wings – needs to understand that they work for the voting population, not the other way around. And as such, they need to look out for their constituents’ best interests – health care included. It is not the government’s job to take care of us; our country was built on self-initiative and making our own way.
If you don’t possess a work ethic, then perhaps Socialist health care is right up your alley. But if you, like myself, think that America is great and does not need the federal government making decisions for them, then naturally you will want health care fixed, but not on their terms. Folks, if you allow the government to administer your health care, then not only will we be travelling the road to Socialism, but you are getting what you want and deserve.
