General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Nelson J. Cannon, Army National Guard, commander, 46th Military Police Command, Lansing, Mich., to provost marshal/deputy commander, Detainee Operations, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq.
Maj. Gen. David R. Hogg, deputy commanding general, Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to commanding general, U.S. Army Africa/commanding general, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Italy.
