Left Coast Report

Just one news tidbit of importance from Hollyweird:

Actress, activist and perennial leftist Jane Fonda recently appeared at a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer, who is up for re-election for the U.S. Senate in California.

The event was co-hosted by Tobey Maguire and Alyssa Milano and ironically was dubbed “Keep Change Alive.” Anyone familiar with Boxer knows the slogan is completely antithetical to the reputation of the long-serving, do-nothing, radical Dem.

Boxer’s wavering campaign is getting an additional assist from another Hollywood comrade, Robert Greenwald.

The filmmaker, left-wing activist, and founder of Brave New Films has produced an attack video to diminish the appeal of Boxer’s opponent for senate, former head of Hewlett Packard Carly Fiorina. It’s called “The Real Carly.”

Greenwald, who made the commercial failure “Xanadu” (1980), has in more recent times dedicated his career to documentaries that attack everything and anything right-of-center.

Greenwald’s company has produced titles such as “Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism” (2004), “Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers” (2006), “The Big Buy: Tom Delay’s Stolen Congress,” and “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.”

His attack flicks are supported and partially financed by his affiliation with radical activist organizations such as Moveon.org.

“The Real Carly” uses the hack technique of having an image of former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin morph into the face of Fiorina.

As Palin’s features change, she explains why she gave Fiorina an endorsement in the Republican primary. The former Alaska governor points out that Fiorina is “pro Second Amendment, anti-big government, anti-tax and pro development,” political positions that apparently cause Greenwald and friends to cringe.

The video also shows purported scenes from tea party events, which include footage of participants with signs that refer to President Obama as a communist and the anti-Christ. The video transitions to Fiorina at a tea party rally talking to reporters where she describes attendees as “hard-working Americans.”

Greenwald has plans for another video to be released in August, which will highlight Fiorina’s pro-life beliefs.

Try as he may, nothing Greenwald ever does will repair the damage Boxer inflicted on herself during a congressional hearing back in June 2009. It’s on YouTube for all to see, and it shows the California senator’s ego on full display.

Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh was appearing before an Environment and Public Works panel of which Boxer was a member.

During his presentation, in military style, the general referred to male members of the panel as “sir.” In like manner, he referred to Boxer as “ma’am.”

To Walsh, Boxer said with derision, “You know, do me a favor: Could you say senator instead of ma’am?”

Despite Boxer’s arrogant behavior and contemptible rhetoric, the officer remained a gentleman.

Left Coast Report

Fresh off the news cycle on the command change in Afghanistan, Vice President Joe Biden is set to jet off to Los Angeles for a Hollywood fundraiser to help out the increasingly vulnerable Sen. Barbara Boxer in her re-election bid.

Last fall Biden tried to raise cash for Boxer at the home of food mogul and prominent Dem donor Ron Burkle.

President Obama was also recently on the left coast with the same goal in mind, to shake the Hollywood money tree for California’s empty pantsuit.

The upcoming Biden-Boxer bash is scheduled to be held in July at the Bel Air home of Thomas E. Rothman, CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment.

To hobnob with assembled glitterati, it’ll cost you $1,500 per person. And if you want to pose for a picture with the senator or the veep, you’ll have to shell out $2,500 per person.

In typical liberal hypocrisy-style, the best seats in the house are reserved for those who fork over 25 grand.

Boxer’s GOP rival, Carly Fiorina, is rumored to be contemplating besting Barbara by holding a roast beef sandwich soiree with tea.

It’s kinda funny what politicians and even U.S. presidents will say outside the confines of Washington D.C. What you’re about to hear could very well upset you – especially if you’re a conservative. You be the judge. Many thanks to Andrew Breitbart for the clip.
