I think that it is common knowledge that BSNBC MSNBC is as left-leaning as they come, in terms of the mainstream media. The network illustrated that in spades Monday morning during the “Morning Joe” program.

Mika Brzezinski, during a panel discussion, along with other panelists, were discussing their favorite president. Instead of being the spoilsport, I’ll let you see who she thought was her favorite president. H/T to Brad Wilmouth of the Media Research Center. Below are the relevant parts of the round table discussion:

JOE SCARBOROUGH: By the way, it’s Presidents Day. I’m going to do a quick go-around. John, who’s your favorite President?

JOHN AVLON, THE DAILY BEAST: Lincoln, followed by Teddy Roosevelt.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Oh, I’m with you.

SCARBOROUGH: All right.

ANDY SERWER, FORTUNE MAGAZINE: Geez, I got to say Lincoln, too.

BRZEZINSKI: Yeah, absolutely. All around.

SCARBOROUGH: Another Lincoln.

BRZEZINSKI: Favorite former President, Jimmy Carter.

SCARBOROUGH: Oh, come on, that, you-

BRZEZINSKI: No, seriously.

SCARBOROUGH: You know what, that is a-

BRZEZINSKI: He is the best former President we’ve ever had.

SCARBOROUGH: You should be, you should be paid.

BRZEZINSKI: Is he not?

AVLON: In terms of Habitat for Humanity, absolutely.

SERWER: Best presidential candidate, Kinkie-

SCARBOROUGH: You’re making-

SERWER: -Freedman.

SCARBOROUGH: -my teeth hurt. Al Hunt, who’s your favorite President, buddy?

AL HUNT: Well, Lincoln, but Franklin Roosevelt a close second.

SCARBOROUGH: All right, Willie Geist?

WILLIE GEIST: I’m going to side with Mika for his bravery against that killer rabbit in Plains, Georgia. (ALL LAUGH) I think that makes him the best President.

BRZEZINSKI: Stop mocking him.

Global warming does exist – at the studios of MSNBC. Please note the “according to the U.N.” references. That should tell you everything that you need to know.

Poor Rachel Maddow. I’m not sure if it’s for shock value or the fact that she still doen’t get it, but she spouted off on her TV program on BSNBC MSNBC, once again slamming the tea partiers. Memo to Rachel – despite what you think, we are not the dumb hicks that you potray us to be.

I realize that I am being repetitive here, as I have talked about this subject before, but it bears repeating as it tests the pulse of the television-watching public: the fact that Fox News Channel is #1 throughout any given week, according to polls.

So to hammer home the point, a Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters on January 18-19 discovered that 49 percent of Americans trusted FNC, which is 10 percentage points higher than its leading competitor.

37% said that they didn’t trust Fox, which is not surprisingly, the lowest level of distrust of any of the networks.

In reference to partisanship, there was a split among those who trusted FNC: 74% of Republicans trust Fox while only 30% of Demcrats stated they trusted the network.

Meanwhile, CNN was the second-most-trusted network, garnering the trust of 39% of those polled while 41% said they didn’t trust CNN. All three of the major networks were trusted by les sthna 40 percent of those polled, with NBC ranking the highest at 35%; 44 percent said they didn’t trust NBC, which was combined with its sister network BSNBC MSNBC.

Additionally, 32 percent said that they trusted CBS while 31 percent said they trusted ABC; both CBS and ABC were mistrusted by 46% of those polled. According to PPP President Dean Debnam:

“A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news.

“But the media landscape has really changed, and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.”

So there you have it, folks. The numbers do not lie. The poll illustrates what is probably old news: the American viewing public is not as stupid as the progressives (liberals) make them out to be. Not to mention that despite what the Democrats claim, this country is by and large center to just right-of-center in their thinking.

And that will be validated when the mid-term elections take place in November of this year.

A Chicago-Style Moment

Imagine this folks. A talking head over at MSNBC making it obvious that he doesn’t want Scott Brown to win Tuesday’s election. While that’s not exactly earth-shattering news in and of itself, it is what this talking head says. Ed Schultz puts his one-and-a-half cents in during his ratings-killing “Ed Show” over at MSNBC. Let’s just say that he illustrates exactly why the liberal media is in bed with Obama. Apparently, voter fraud is in Schultz’s DNA.

Beltway Rumblings

Written by Stephen Rhodes on January 10, 2010 - Comments No Comments

A couple tidbits – rumors, if you will – coming from the Beltway:

  • The Republican National Committee has transferred $20,000 to the Northern Mariana Islands in what could be support for local candidates — or, as some suspect, political payback. The money sent to the U.S. Commonwealth in the Western Pacific Ocean — population around 80,000 — has raised eyebrows because the Islands have no electoral votes in presidential elections and no voting members in the U.S. Congress.

But RNC Chairman Michael Steele won his race to head the national GOP with backing from the committee’s five island constituencies — the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands — which under committee rules have as many voting members on the committee as any of the 50 states.

“Insiders said the islands sought a financial commitment from the eventual winner,” National Journal’s Web site reported. Steele advisers deny that a deal was cut, and an RNC spokesperson said the money was intended to help Republicans win elections. The GOP candidate in the 2009 gubernatorial election was narrowly defeated.

  • Liberal radio talker Ed Schulz has been contacted by a top Democratic leader in North Dakota about a possible run for the seat being vacated by Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan, who announced on Tuesday that he won’t seek re-election this year.

Schulz, who also hosts “The Ed Show” on MSNBC, told viewers on Wednesday: “I did get a phone call this morning from the House Democratic leader, Merle Boucher, and he asked me to consider a run for the Senate seat in the state of North Dakota. I asked him very point blank, ‘Is this an official ask?’ He said, ‘Yes, it is.’”

Schultz said he is “flattered” and “honored,” but added that he “can’t say that I’m even considering it right now.”
