For once, the Israelis have an ally in their corner in reference to the very likely possibility of the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities.  Whether this ally is a surprise may depend on your point of view; who is this ally, you’re wondering?  None other than Saudi Arabia.

At least this is according to the head of Mossad (the top Israel spy agency); Meir Dagan, head of Mossad, has already held secret talks with Saudi officials.  And the Saudi kingdom has apparently agreed to turn a blind eye to any future bombing of Iran by Israel should the Israelis fly into Saudi air space.

All of this makes perfect sense since both Israel and Saudi Arabia share common interests which could be jeopardized with the advent of the Iranian nuclear program, hence the tacit approval by the Saudis.  So essentially, the approval that the Israelis tried to get from the U.S. – namely the Obama administration – they got elsewhere.  And I have said several times here before that Israel would wind up eventually doing this Iran bombing excursion alone – the only difference being that someone other than the U.S. has the Israelis’ back.

All of these happenings prove once and for all that the Obama administration is clueless insofar as foreign policy is concerned.  All because they want Israel to not build some settlements despite “natural growth”.  If I didn’t know any better, I would have to say that both Obama and probably Hillary Clinton are both pro-Palestine.

Whether it was politically driven or not is probably speculation at this point, but one thing is for certain: Iran is definitely feeling froggy as of late.  What I am referring to here folks is the fact that Iran successfully test-launched a medium-range missile, according to U.S. government officials.

Even Tehran is admitting as much as they have stated that they test-fired a new advanced missile which has a range of about 1,200 miles – enough range to reach Israel, Southern Europe and U.S. naval ships based in the Mediterranean Sea.  The missile, a Sajjil-2, was launched from Semnan (presumably an Iranian missile site about 125 miles east of Tehran).

Assuming all of this took place, this has serious ramifications for everyone involved – including Iran, Israel, and to a degree, the United States.  Iran’s launching of a missile only magnifies the need to severely crack down on Iran’s nuclear program in its current form.  Our country truly needs to cover Israel’s back as it has become painfully clear that Iran wants to demolish Israel; also keep in mind that the short-sighted policies that Obama and Clinton have in mind for Iran are quite ineffective.

About the thing that Obama wants to do with Iran these days is seek “sanctions” against Iran – which you know involve the United Nations, presumably the U.N. Security Council.  And we’ve seen how ineffective that has been as evidenced by the North Korean missile launch that took place some time ago.  Bottom line here?  Diplomacy between the U.S. and these other countries has never worked.

At this current pace, Israel will have no other alternative but to use their air force and destroy the Iranian nuclear facilities – with or without the United States’ blessing.  After all, Obama is advocating a two-state system between Israel and Palestine – which has proven time and time again to be an utter failure.  While it’s nice to use diplomacy, unfortunately, nations such as Iran and North Korea tend to disregard and not take seriously the threat of sanctions levied against them.  Which will inevitably turn around and bite them in the butt.

To a lesser degree, elections that took place in Iran recently made this launch necessary as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had actual competition for his seat as President of the country.  Just another way to flex his political muscles, so to speak.  One can only hope that Iran “blinks” and reconsiders its nuclear ambitions; if they don’t it will come back to haunt them in a major way.

But at the same time, because the launch affects Israel and to a degree Southern Europe, I would like to think that the Europeans will apply pressure of their own as it has become apparent so far that the U.S. isn’t exactly covering Israel’s back.  And of push comes to shove, Israel will have to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities – alone.  And I have said this on more than one occasion – Israel has the capabilities to do this alone and successfully.

Unless someone – anyone – can prove to me otherwise (preferably with evidence), I will continue to assert that the United States – in this case the Obama administration – no longer has Israel’s back.  It is common knowledge that the administration is in favor of a Palestinian state as previous actions and deeds have indicated as much.

But despite all of this, the head of the Central Intelligence Agency – one Leon Panettawent to Israel a couple weeks ago to warn their leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, not to commence bombing Iran without notifying the Obama administration.  The Israelis have already made assurances in the past that they would warn the U.S. well in advance, so I do not see what the issue in question is.

It seems like a contradiction that the Obama administration would rather engage in diplomacy with Tehran – which Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad doesn’t care for much – instead of being proactive, while at the same time basically telling Israel to restrain their bombing ambitions.  After all, this is the same Iran that has said publicly that they want to wipe Israel off the map.

This, at least to me, seems to smack of Jimmy Carter revisited.  And it is becoming increasingly clear that the Obama administration is getting increasingly more clueless – daily it seems – about their foreign policy.  The North Korean showdown that took place recently is a good example.  The Obama administration had the chance then to assert itself and make North Korea back down from their threat to launch their missile.  Turns out that it was Obama and Co. who backed down instead.

But back to Israel.  Because the Obama administration, in so many words, has opted not to be a true ally to Israel, has made the decision for this Jewish nation to have few options in regards to the Iran situation.  Regardless of any warnings from Netanyahu that come Obama’s way, I truly believe that Israel will have little choice – actually no choice – but to bomb those nuclear facilities in Iran.  And quite honestly, I do not blame them.

You see, if they didn’t, Iran would eventually bomb Israel – with the end result being the nation getting obliterated.  In other words, Israel would cease to exist.  This would present yet another golden opportunity for the Obama administration to “man-up” and give Iran the ultimate ultimatum: leave Israel alone or bear the consequences of anything that the Israelis decide to do.  I hope this is the route Obama takes, but knowing their diplomatic track record, this is hardly a given.  Israel will be the lone ranger in all of this as they, like the U.S. has done themselves on more than one occasion, will undertake this all by themselves.  And like our country, they will succeed.

The United States and Israel have a relationship that is like a big-brother, little-brother setup.  As of late, the big brother (the U.S.) hasn’t covered the little brother’s (Israel) back.  What I am referring to here is the tense scenario between Israel and Iran,  As most of you already know, Iran hates Israel and wants to eliminate them from the planet.  We also know that Iran is also building up its nuclear arsenal, as well – and Israel is obviously mindful of this fact.

But from what has transpired recently, Israel is readying itself to launch a massive serial attack on Iranian nuclear facilities within days of getting the go-ahead from the country’s new government.  And the Israelis are making plenty of preparations in the event that Iran returns the favor.  They are acquiring three Airborne Warning and Control aircraft which will perform regional missions to simulate an attack – a dress rehearsal, if you will.

A couple nationwide civil defense drills will help in getting the Israeli citizenry ready for a possible Iranian attack; officials in the know think that Israel would be required – to be successful – to take out more than a dozen targets, including moving convoys.  The air distance for one of the Iranian targets is more than 870 miles, which is a distance that the Israeli air force has used in performing exercises which involved F-15 and F-16 jets, helicopters and refueling tankers.

I would suspect that the Israelis will not make this attack without at least tacit approval from us.  That in and of itself is questionable since President Obama is getting conciliatory towards Iran as of late.  And there’s people who question whether the operation would be successful, including Ephraim Kam of the Institute for National Security Studies.  According to Kam, he thinks that we will not approve the attacks, adding:

“The American defence establishment is unsure that the operation will be successful. And the results of the operation would only delay Iran’s programme by two to four years.”

Ironically or not, Obama is due for a visit to Israel in June – right in time for the Iranian national elections – which may allow the U.S. time to weigh their options in reference to diplomatic resolutions with Iran before hearing Israel’s position.  But nonetheless, Israel has made it known that they will perform their largest nationwide drill to date next month.  As part of that exercise, the Israelis, along with U.S. troops, will test the effectiveness of Arrow – its U.S.-funded missile defense system.

But regardless of anything I have said, the following statement from an official from the Israeli Defense Ministry says it best:

“Israel has made it clear that it will not tolerate the threat of a nuclear Iran. According to Israeli Intelligence they will have the bomb within two years … Once they have a bomb it will be too late, and Israel will have no choice to strike — with or without America.”

So there you have it folks.  What people do not understand about Israel is that they didn’t get to where there at in just 61 years time by being this socialist country – which they are obviously not.  It is apparent that they have been quite capable of taking care of themselves, and I really think that the country will take out Iran – with or without us – something I have said on at least one occasion here at The Temple and on some of the episodes at The Republican Temple’s broadcasts.

Since all the Obama administration seems to want to do is try and make our enemies our friends, it is looking more than likely that Israel will be doing its own dirty work.  And you know what?  I don’t blame them one bit.  At least the head of Israel’s government has some balls – unlike our president.
